The line

Four words. Pick the one that sounds like you.

Every hoodie in the MAÑANA line has one word you might know from a Spanish holiday, next to the word your Moroccan neighbour would use. Same price, same quality, a different story.

POCO A POCO.
شوية شوية
Take it easy. Little by little.

In Spain they say poco a poco, in Morocco shwiya shwiya. An old man walks his donkey through an alley, at his own pace.

MAÑANA.
غدا
Tomorrow. It'll be fine, just not today.

In Andalusia and in Morocco it means exactly the same. A man pours mint tea, with mañana and ghadan underneath.

PRIMERO, ATAY.
الشاي أولاً
Tea first. Then the rest.

That is how it goes in Morocco, and in Spain too, really. Two men at a small table with mint tea.

ACEITE.
الزيت
Oil. Centuries of Andalusia in one word.

The Spanish aceite comes from the Arabic az-zayt. Hands full of fresh olives above a wicker basket.

Why Spanish and Arabic

Spain spoke Arabic for almost eight centuries. You can still hear it.

From 711 to 1492 large parts of Spain were Al-Andalus. The language stayed: thousands of Spanish words come from Arabic. Aceite from az-zayt. Azúcar from as-sukkar. Naranja from nāranj.

The MAÑANA line is about that shared language. Not a logo, not a slogan: a word that people on both sides of the Strait of Gibraltar understand.

Orange is new and for now only available for POCO A POCO. The other three come in black, burgundy, forest green, dark chocolate, navy and sand.
What do the Arabic words mean?
POCO A POCO: shwiya shwiya, little by little. MAÑANA: ghadan, tomorrow. PRIMERO, ATAY: ash-shay awwalan, tea first. ACEITE: az-zayt, the oil.
